The Hirshorn Company was established as a sole proprietorship, Harry R. Hirshorn and Company, by Harry R. Hirshorn in 1931. Located for many years in the shadow of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in the two hundred year old Pennsylvania Fire Insurance Building, it was incorporated July 1, 1953. The firm changed its name to The Hirshorn Company and moved to Chestnut Hill in 1970. Through three generations of Hirshorn family stewardship, the company has built an enviable reputation for integrity, reliability, and technical proficiency.

In the eight decades since our founding, we have prospered and evolved into a sophisticated corporation providing innovative and competitive property, casualty, and life insurance programs for businesses and individuals. Under the current direction of Ralph Hirshorn, chairman of the corporation since 1985, the company serves thousands of clients around the world, insuring both routine and unusual risks with creativity and innovation.
