Only one benefit, the largest to which
you are entitled, is payable for all losses resulting from one accident.
AD&D losses due to War or Terrorism will be covered for 100% of the
Scheduled benefit.
War Risk is not covered in U.S., Canada,
and Iraq. War is defined
as: 1) hostilities following a declaration of war by a government authority
2) if there is no declaration of war, then armed, open and continuous
hostilities between two countries; or 3) armed, open and continuous hostilities
between two factions, each in control of territory, or claiming jurisdiction
over the site of the area of the hostility.
Medical Evacuation & Repatriation
While you or your spouse and dependents are traveling
outside the United States, you are covered up to $75,000 in the event of
a medical emergency.
If, as a result of accidental bodily injury, illness or disease an emergency
Medical Evacuation and/or Repatriation is necessary, the plan will pay covered
expenses up to a maximum of $75,000. The Medical Evacuation and/or Repatriation
must be ordered by a physician and approved and coordinated by Medex
Assistance
Corporation.
Medical Evacuation means the emergency transportation from your location of injury
or illness (outside the U.S.) to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical
treatment can be obtained.
Repatriation means your transfer from that hospital where the emergency medical
care was given to your country of domicile to obtain further medical treatment
or to recover. Repatriation also means the necessary arrangements for the return
of your remains in the event of death.
Covered Expenses means the costs for:
1) Most direct and economical transportation required to transport you during
a medical evacuation.
2) Medical supplies and services which:
a) are ordered by the attending physician
b) are in the opinion of the attending physician,
necessarily incurred in connection with the medical evacuation.
3) Necessary expenses for embalming, cremation, transportation and purchase of
a shipping container.
Covered Expenses do not include those which occur while you are traveling against
the advice of a physician and/or traveling for the purposes of obtaining medical
treatment. |
