The Hirshorn Company was established as
a sole proprietorship, Harry R. Hirshorn and Company, by Harry R. Hirshorn
in 1931. Located for many years in the shadow of Independence Hall and
the Liberty Bell in the two hundred year old Pennsylvania Fire Insurance
Building, the firm changed its name to The Hirshorn Company and moved to
the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia in 1970. Through three generations
of Hirshorn family stewardship, the company has built an enviable reputation
for integrity, reliability, and technical proficiency.
In the eight decades since our founding, we have prospered and evolved
into a sophisticated corporation providing innovative and competitive property,
casualty, and life insurance programs for businesses and individuals. Under
the current direction of Ralph Hirshorn, chairman of the corporation since
